The Museum of Preone is set up in the splendid and historic Lupieri palace, with the intention of representing the beauties of the mountainous territory and transmitting, in an in-depth fashion, the long history of this locality.
In the first hall, recreated in the inside of exhibition cabinets and thanks to the aid of diorama, are parts of the environments of the surrounding areas with their relative specimens of the most significant animal species.
In the second hall, as well as a description of the territory of Preone from the Triassic period, approximately 210-215 million years ago, as the title of the exhibition says, there is a showcase cabinet containing some fossils originating from the Valle del Rio Seazza (Valley of the River Seazza).
Exhibited in Preone, preserved only as the imprint of the bones, is an interesting example of a Pterosaur, with a wing span of 50 centimetres.
Also exhibited at the Museum are the fossils of crayfish belonging to an extinct species, distinguishable by the claw in the shape of elongated pincers.
