At Cercivento di Sotto, near Plan da Fàrie, rises an ancient water powered forge which since 1990, after its restoration, has become a small museum. The life and work of a blacksmith is reconstructed in the interior through tools, products, images and captions.
From an investiture given to Francesco Morassi dated August 12th 1804, is drawn a meticulous description of the workings of the various machinery with precise indications of the diameters of the wheels, the lengths of the arms and, surprisingly indicated, the weights of the two hammers, of 190 and 140 kilograms respectively.
In 1902, the workshop was bought by Francesco Dessi (Checo) who worked there until 1955. His work was continued by his son Francesco (Checùt) and by his grandson Candido Silverio until 1966 when a disastrous flooding rendered the supply of water impossible, and consequently rendered the plant unusable.
Found in the interior of the 'Fàrie' (forge) are all the tools necessary for a blacksmith and visitors can observe a complete collection of the objects that could be manufactured in a forge, tidily exhibited and marked with their Italian name and its corresponding name in the Friulian language
