Art Park is essentially a modern art museum in the open air. Since 1989, Egidio Marzona, the inventor of the park, has promoted numerous productions working with important personalities such as Bruce Neuman, Richard Long, Sol LeWitt, Lavrence Wener, Dan Graham, Bernd Lohaus, Lothar Baumgarten, Mario Merz and Giuseppe Penone, and other artists of international fame.
These artists are from various art movements, from Minimalism to Land Art, form Conceptual Art to the Italian 'Arte Povera' movement, and share a desire to exit from the institutional confines of the rule to bring artistic experience into the real world.
The location of the individual works is not at all casual but is contextual with the creation of the works themselves.
One can admire works that use common materials such as the work in cement by Bruce Nauman, began in 1987 and completed three years later, that in steel by Richard Nonas from 1993, or that in steel and glass by Dan Graham from 1998. There are also works by artists who have used natural materials, such as the work by Richard Long in river stones from 1996
